Ellis Mhairi Cameron is a Scottish fine jewellery designer and an emerging jewellery talent. Ellis graduated from The Glasgow School of Art in 2014 before recently completing a Master’s in Jewellery Design in 2017 at Central St Martins.
Launching her debut Fine Jewellery collection; Ancestry this year, Ellis explores how specific locations, environments and topography influence our identities and form social heritage. Ellis explores the theory of topophilia, (the definition for a sense of place) in this collection, with fragmented rock textures used to convey a sense of landscapes from the Scottish Highlands. She also takes inspiration from the architecture of medieval Scottish buildings, of castles and ruined houses. Using a combination of subtle textures and forms, crafted in ethically sourced Fair Trade and recycled gold with opal and smokey quartz accents, Cameron sets out to remake lost or imagined jewels from history for contemporary lives.
We are thrilled to feature the Ancestry Fine Jewellery collection by Ellis Mhairi Cameron available to purchase online at La Maison Couture
