Seafire Pearl Earrings
The Seafire Pearl Earrings are hand made from recycled 18k yellow gold, and feature Keshi Pearls.
Made for for the main character Jed (Elizabeth Debicki) in The Night Manager. All her jewellery was especially made by Josephine Bergsøe for that TV-series, these are her everyday pieces. The task was to make something simple and classic, but still elegant and unusual.
Part of Bergsoe's Seafire Earring Collection - "I began creating the 'Seafire Jewellery' around 1995. I had experienced seafire (a phytoplankton fluorescent reaction) in the oceans, while sailing or swimming in the summer nights. I was so taken by the amazing view and feeling when cold water would throw flashing cascades over suntanned skin, leaving sparkling embers scattered all over. I tried to translate the sensation: the liquid, amorphous water, seaweed, sparkling embers. In the beginning, just diamonds scattered over a golden beam, or thread around the finger. But these days, I sneak in coloured gems in all shapes, cuts and shades, still overwhelmed, inspired and enchanted by the oceans and their sea-creatures." ~ Josephine Bergsøe

Bergsoe only use recycled gold and silver to ensure a responsible supply chain, both ethically, socially and environmentally, and all of their jewellery is made by hand in their workshop in Copenhagen. The gemstones they use originate primarily from dealers with whom they have worked with for 20-30 years, who ensure proper working and environmental conditions in the production. Bergsoe's use of diamonds is all subject to the Kimberley Convention.
